Track 05: Small Town

ACTION: EVERYWHERE - ALL DAY - EVERYONE

[As Yosuke's settled himself into Mayfield, he finds one question gnawing at the back of his head.

Is this place really that bad?

Sure, there's the dronings and the weird things that happen, but day to day everybody's able to go about their lives - maybe even find things to do that make them happy. They bring bits and pieces from home and make connections with other people. They can even meet people they never would have at home. Does the good the people make in this town outweigh the bad the town tries to bring them down with?

He's curious. Also, it's a great excuse to take a day off and wander around the town, so that's exactly what he does - he sets out and walks, with no destination in mind]

(( OOC NOTE: He's literally just walking around town today, meeting people, talking to people, whatever. In your reply just note where they're meeting; the park, a store, outside someone's house. It doesn't matter where, just give me a heads up. Thanks! <3 ))

[Grimsley is returning home from a morning of grocery shopping, carrying a single bottle of wine in his hands.

...Bisharp strides along behind him, laden with five grocery bags. They make an odd pair. Possibly, Yosuke may be curious enough at seeing the Pokemon to approach, especially as Bisharp accidentally moves his arm the wrong way and slices right through one of the bags he was attempting to hold, spilling its contents.]

Ah, the wonders you could do with opposable thumbs, old friend...

[Nope. He's never seen one of those before. A few weeks ago he would've been absolutely shocked out of his mind, but now his jaw merely drops - way to desensitize him, Mayfield. Of course he has to wander over to the two of them]

[Somehow, the demeanor of the steel warrior becomes even more stiff at hearing Yosuke's words; Grimsley quickly hides a smirk.]

Perhaps you could choose a better analogy there... But I'd be in your debt if you could help with this mess.

[As Yosuke walked near the park, he might just have noticed a totally normal guy. Well, okay, not totally normal.]

[He might have been wearing ordinary enough clothes, but blue hair wasn't quite typical for most people. Neither was the steel lance being spun around in his hand like it weighed the same as cardboard and stabbed repeatedly at a nonexistent opponent.]

[So really quite the opposite of normal. Approach anyway, Yosuke?]

[In this town, 'normal' becomes incredibly subjective. He approaches somewhat, getting closer until he's at the perfect distance to watch and appreciate the guy's skill without risking a wayward stab. Having been in his share fights he can certainly appreciate the guy's skill - and he sure as hell doesn't want to get on his bad side.

So for now, he'll just wait until Mr. Blue Hair is done]

[Oh hey, was that an audience? Rin would probably give him hell for training in such an obvious place, but did it really matter? It wasn't as if half the city didn't already know who he was anyway.]

[Withering looks? He's used to those - he got them in Inaba all the time. But they're a bit rare here, so he stops to check himself. He didn't step in any flowers, he didn't walk where he wasn't supposed to, he doesn't remember kicking any puppies.

[Bright green hair? That's something he doesn't see every day. He stops next to her, glancing inside and trying to discern just what she's looking for]

[Because there's always some place for SHIKI to stalk, I just haven't thought of which one yet. Yosuke can find him suspiciously loitering around a house, peeking in windows from afar once in a while.]

[Outside of one of the houses is a little girl playing hopscotch. There is a slightly worn teddy bear sitting on a nearby lawn chair positioned so he can watch.]

[That is absolutely adorable - and a little heartbreaking when he considers that a tiny cute girl is trapped in the town. That's not right]
