Track 04: Nobody Told Me

ACTION: The Record Store - Morning/Afternoon - Open

[All things considered, Yosuke is enjoying his new job at the record store, familiarizing himself with the music and keeping the records spinning. If you're in the market for some music, come on in and shop!]

ACTION: John Doe Park - Evening - Open

[Yosuke is sitting on a park bench, headphones on as he looks at the ground, despondant. He'd been wondering why he hadn't heard from Chie lately and wanted to make sure she was going to his (late) Birthday Party, so he'd gone after work in search of her.

He hadn't been prepared to see his friend all dressed up and flirting with the drone boys. No training, no kung fu, no arguing - done through and through.

He's not sure how to cope with that. He doesn't even know how long she's been this way. So he's simply sitting there, drowning his sorrows in the music and trying to cope with everything.]

I don't know, I learned a lot from the last big fight I had.

It ended in a tie though - I guess that's pretty uncommon.

"I had to do a lot of fighting at home... I just never much liked it."

I didn't mind, but I think our situations might have been a little different.

I don't think a military girl just fought a bunch of monsters.

"Depends on if you think a human can be a monster or not."

[His mind instantly goes to one asshole in particular and he nods]

Oh yeah. People can be monsters alright.

"Then I've fought my share of monsters."

[He's desperate to prevent this conversation from going back into depressing territory]

Hey, lets forget about that. Are you drunk again? You let me hug you in public and everything without saying a word.

[Congrats Yosuke, you got her to flush red with embarrassment for a moment]

"No... I'm not drunk... But, um, if you really want to. I'm just not entirely comfortable with very public displays like that."

[If only he'd meant to do that! Oh well, still awesome. He's not much for PDA either, but the park seems pretty empty... so he leans in and gives her a peck on the cheek]

Then if you want more than that, you'll have to get me somewhere not public.

"I um.. Wouldn't want you to think I was taking advantage of your situation."

[He's flushed as well, but more from happiness at knowing someone like Ruri. He's truly a lucky guy]

Yeah? Some other time then - when I'm not depressed and you need a sort of cute boy to make out and sleep with.

I don't think I'd win any competitions like that.

"Maybe I'll have to ask your friend Rise. I've been meaning to meet her face to face and she seems the type to tell a good story."

[Dammit... Rise and her big (albiet cute) mouth. He shudders thinking about the whole thing]

It was terrible and I still have nightmares. And if you want the rest then go ahead and ask Rise, because I'm done.

More like I played a joke and it backfired. Big time.

"Entered your girlfriend in a swimsuit competition and she was stronger than you?"

One, she's still not my girlfriend. Two, I had no idea they'd have to wear swimsuits. Three, I didn't think she'd sign me up for a cross-dressing pageant in revenge.

[He sighs and just waits it out patiently, used to this sort of thing by now. It's not that funny.]
