Track 04: Nobody Told Me

ACTION: The Record Store - Morning/Afternoon - Open

[All things considered, Yosuke is enjoying his new job at the record store, familiarizing himself with the music and keeping the records spinning. If you're in the market for some music, come on in and shop!]

ACTION: John Doe Park - Evening - Open

[Yosuke is sitting on a park bench, headphones on as he looks at the ground, despondant. He'd been wondering why he hadn't heard from Chie lately and wanted to make sure she was going to his (late) Birthday Party, so he'd gone after work in search of her.

He hadn't been prepared to see his friend all dressed up and flirting with the drone boys. No training, no kung fu, no arguing - done through and through.

He's not sure how to cope with that. He doesn't even know how long she's been this way. So he's simply sitting there, drowning his sorrows in the music and trying to cope with everything.]

[He finally manages a genuine smile and gently kisses her forehead]

Yeah, you're right. We'll get over this, it'll be alright sooner or later.

[She nods and smiles slightly]

"Yes. Maybe your other friends have insight into this I don't have as well."

Maybe. I know it won't hurt to talk to them.

[She smiles again and shakes her head]

"You'd do the same for me. Right?"

[He smiles right back]

Of course I would. You can count on me, Ruri.

"I'm glad then. Cause if this didn't work I would have had to go with plan B."

[Well now you've got him curious]

And what was plan B?

"Oh.. Trust me, you don't want to know."

"Well, I'll just have to keep it in reserve as a last move. Some day you may see."

Oh come on! You can't leave a guy hanging like that!

"Use your imaginati... On second thought don't. If I tell you I won't be able to use it later so..."

[Wait, what?

He's never been more curious, but he doesn't have much choice but to let it go]

Guess I have something to look forward to, then.

"That and I haven't gotten my neko outfit back."

[She shrugs, still deadpan]

[He blushes and flusters]

Yeah? And you don't even want me to imagine it? That's cruel, Ruri.

... nah, you're right. I'd rather wait and see it in person anyway.

"Maybe some day I'll get those things back and you can."

I don't think I'd mind a few more sleepovers in the meantime.

"...I do miss that small shared room from home, thank you for that, I hope it wasn't too frustrating for you."

It was actually kind of nice. Not so much you tossing and turning, but the part where I had someone there with me.

"I'm still not used to a bed, or at least that bed."

I'd offer to let you share mine, but the zombie wife might not like that.

"Oh. I've taken to locking the drones in the house in the basement when they get irritating. I know it may sound mean but they just don't seem to remember."

I... I think I'd feel too bad, doing that.

She- she used to be one of us. You know. Not a drone.
