Track 06 - Gonna Fly Now

ACTION: The Park - Open

[It's a nice day in the park - the sun shining down, a breeze blowing through - it's the perfect day for Yosuke to work the stress out with a good friend. The entire park is his training area - trees to climb, benches to jump over and off of, and a thousand and one ways to test his speed and agility. Though there's no enemy to fight and no goal to reach, it feels good just doing something.

Sometimes they're working together, sometimes apart, but the two best certainly seem in synch as they get their exercise on all over the park. Aww yeah.]

(( OOC: For this, please specify if you'd like to tag Yosuke, Souji, or both together, as they're there working out in tandem ))

[Ten sets of fourty? Four hundred?! Was Souji insane? His face fell for a minute, but he collected himself. He might lose in strength, but like hell he wouldn't give it his all. He dropped down to the ground as well, assuming the position]

Is that it? Jeez Partner, I can do those in my sleep.

[ He's already finishing up his first set, just plowing through them with perfect form. He pauses after the first set for a small break and adjusts to knuckles for a little variety, already thinking ahead of where they'll be able to do some pull-ups. ]

[He gets through the first set well enough, but screw you and your variety, Partner. He's already slowing down as he makes his way through the second set, and groans to himself knowing the third is going to be pure torture]

[ Swinging a big stick around works a lot of upper body strength! He's moved from fingertip pushups on the third set to forming a triangle with his hands for the fourth set. The fifth set he puts his left arm behind his back. He's starting to struggle a bit now, slowing down a little, but he decides that the tree and one of its low limbs that Yosuke the monkey was bouncing off of would be a great place for some pull-ups. ]

[The third set is pure torture. The fourth set makes him wish he was never born. The fifth? He gets four reps into the fifth set and flat out collapses - proud that he made it that far but silently cursing his partner's name for putting them through it at all]

[ Souji keeps going, finishing up the fifth set and moving onto the sixth. After a bit when Yosuke doesn't move anymore, Souji stops and sits down. His pecs are aching, but it is a sweet ache. ]

Ready for some pull-ups?

[Yosuke rolls over onto his back, entire body feeling like jelly]

I hate you.

[It's the closest Souji's going to get to a 'yes' as Yosuke forces himself to sit up.]

[ Souji walks to one of the various trees that they've been all over already. He takes a small running jump and catches a lower thick branch and just hangs there, adjusting his grip and compensating that he's grabbing rough tree bark instead of actually wrapping his fingers around because the limb is way too thick. ]

...

This will do.

[ Never mind that the playground is maybe fifty yards away, and there are monkey bars there.............. ]

[As he stands up, Yosuke looks at his leader grabbing a tree.

Then he looks over to the monkey bars.

Back to his leader.

The monkey bars.]

Yeah, have fun with the bark burn. I'll be over there, where the sane people work out.

[ Souji is just... hanging around. ]

This would be better for real situations. There won't be bars to pull yourself up on if you're rock climbing.

[ Because Mayfield has a ton of places where rock climbing is a necessity, right? Right? ]

Well, I was going to rock climbing next Tuesday, right after my final exam from culinary school and my first ever bungee jump.

[Because if you've going for sarcasm, go all out!]

[ Souji's sarcasm, is cryptic. Is he joking? Is he serious? The world may never know...... ]

Oh yeah! It's right next to the giant cliffs for rock climbing. How have you never noticed, Partner? You're so dense sometimes.
